Senior Sports day: Where Art Met Athletics
Freedom International School hosted their much-anticipated Annual Senior Sports Day on 23 November, 2024. The students marched on to the field full of enthusiasm and a determination to win.
The chief guests Mr. Jenith Aiyappa and Capt. Prabhakar were there to motivate the students and make the event even more memorable. The event commenced with the school prayer and an invocation dance showcasing rhythmic yoga in honour of Saint Thyagaraja. The inspiring words of the school principal Sneha Rai resonated deeply with the youngsters. The event featured challenging races, each testing the athletes in unique ways. From taking some mid-air selfies in the hurdle race to stretching their limits in a tug of war, the champions put up a thrilling show. Although the event was primarily athletic, it also had an artistic touch, featuring vibrant dance performances that showcased the students' vibrant energy and dynamic moves. Some of the performances included the briefcase boogie which was marvellously choreographed and the robotic dance which brought futuristic moves and robotic music together. The parents cheered enthusiastically as the children showcased their performances. The hard work and dedication of teachers was evident throughout the event. The two fastest athletes, were honoured with the prestigious titles of Mr. Swift and Ms. Swift. They also received cash prizes as a token of encouragement to continue pursuing their passion for excellence in sports. The event came to an end with the presentation of the Rajesh Gundu Rao Cup for the Sports Champion of the Year (Boys & Girls) which commemorated his immense commitment and contribution to the institution.
